Detailled description

La Quadrature du Net continues its action:

  • by producing and debating analyses of the political and legal stakes of our computerized world, and its possible futures. Our aim is to do this as much as possible by anticipating rather than reacting, in order to chart a positive course in the face of the technocratic hegemony being forged by the de facto alliance between governments and the major digital multinationals.

  • through political and legal advocacy, to bring these analyses to those in positions of power (“advocacy”). In addition to members of parliament, the courts, the government, the European Commission and independent administrative authorities, the aim is also to make this advocacy and these strategies of influence known to everyone, so that they can be understood and inspire others to move in the same direction.

  • through awareness-raising and training, so that our vision of the digital world and the practices that stem from it can be debated, enriched by the expertise of all, and thus spread throughout society (“popular education”). For example, we need to ensure that our allies in the activist world can in turn seize certain tools, and develop methods that emancipate them from surveillance and censorship. It's also about ensuring that everyone understands what's at stake, and is able to use IT in a conscious and reasoned way.
