Documentary "Nothing to Hide" by Marc Meillassoux et Mihaela Gladovic (France, 2016)

"Are you really sure you have "nothing to hide"? How much can  Facebook or Google about you in just 30 days? Your sexual orientation? Your wake-up and bedtimes? Your alcohol consumption and criminal offenses? Your level of wealth and  creditworthiness? Marc Meillassoux and Mihaela Gladovic did the experiment  hacking the iPhone and IMac of a young artist with "nothing to hide" for a month. A hacker and an analyst are tasked with  guess who this young man is and whether he really has "nothing to hide". Little does he know where the experiment will lead him..."

  • Suggested approaches with publics
  1.  Before watching the film, we propose a moving debate with typical affirmative sentences:
ā€œI have nothing to hideā€. Participants position themselves in the ā€œAgree/Disagreeā€ space. Participants explain why they agree or disagree.

After the screening, you can repeat the same ā€œI've got nothing to hideā€ affirmation in a moving debate.

  2. If the group doesn't know each other, the animator can prepare a "Human Bingo" with information he/she would have found on internet about participants. For example :

"He/she is a member of a political party"

"He/she is a singer on internet"

"He/she lives in Brussels"...

After the vision of the movie, the animator can ask anonymously if participants think they "have nothing to hide" and then play to Human Bingo
