In partnership with the Université Paris 8 Vincennes - Saint-Denis, the Ceméa organized a round table on the challenges of cybersurveillance, on Monday January 29 2024. This round table gave the floor to researchers and representatives of associations, in order to discuss the challenges of cybersurveillance within our societies, and in particular with regard to the European elections and the organization of the 2024 Olympics in France. Initially, these exchanges provided an opportunity to take stock of (cyber)surveillance around the world and to become aware of the real consequences of the multiplication of these systems and tools on our collective and individual freedoms. Ways forward were also suggested, enabling each and every one of us to take action at our own level.
This round table was moderated by Alice CHISIN, in charge of the Digital Media and the fight against discrimination at the Ceméa national association.
Round table speakers :
- Katia ROUX, Freedom Advocacy Officer, Amnesty International France
- Corentin, member of the Technopolice Bruxelles collective
- Julien ROSSI, lecturer in information and communication sciences at the
University of Paris 8. His research focuses on the production and reception of legal and technical
and technical standards of personal data protection, Internet governance and surveillance studies.
