The DARE network is a European platform for education for democratic citizenship and human rights education. It is engaging in networking and supporting cooperation of practitioners, stakeholders and policy makers.

The DARE network developed a free and open Digital Toolbox for democracy learning, digitalisation and non-formal education, named Competendo.
Detailled description

The Democracy and Human Rights Education in Europe (DARE) Network was officially launched on 28 June 2003 in Antwerp. It is a European platform for Education for Democratic Citizenship (EDC) and Human Rights Education (HRE). DARE is engaging in networking and supporting cooperation of EDC/HRE practitioners, stakeholders and policy makers beyond project oriented approach.

Among other projects, the DARE network developed a free and open Digital Toolbox for democracy learning, digitalisation and non-formal education, named Competendo  :  

Competendo is committed to developing contempary learning opportunities for civic competences and empowerment. The toolbox offers and shares experience, methods and inspiration for active citizenship-related learning and empowerment in communities, schools, or non-formal learning spaces, in organizations, universities or initiatives.
